When I first came into this class, I wasn't sure what to think. I was a little worried about how it would go since I never really used a camera other than when I was a lot younger, but it wasn't nearly as nice as the school's. When we first took out the camera's I had a little trouble messing with the controls, but I quickly got used to it. When I first was able to go out and take photo's in automatic mode, I had a lot of fun and it got me excited for what was to come for the rest of the trimester. During the first photo assignment, I had a lot of fun going out and taking landscape photograph's. I drove around near my house and parked when I saw a good photo opportunity. My first photograph turned out really nice, but in a lot of my pictures I had trouble with camera shake and digital noise more and more as the sun set. Here are my favorites from my first photograph's: I believe my pictures for macro were the best I had. The color turned out nice along with the depth of field. You could really see the details in the snow and the bark of the tree. I was really impressed with how they turned out. This is my best photo of the class: My worst photograph of the class was probably my photograph of food. It didn't crop well, the lighting was very unnatural and it just overall wasn't very impressive. This is how it turned out: These are another couple of my photograph's that I both liked and disliked from the class. The picture of my dog, Jack, I believe was one of my best pictures. I think the light painting of my mom on the pool table was one of my coolest pictures but isn't the best because it's a little grainy. The picture of motion of the creek by my house I believe was one of my worst photos. The picture of Blaze is also a very nice picture of him. The pictures all show elements of composition, or lack there of that I learned in this class. For my photoshop assignments, my worst photoshop assignment was my school context assignment. It just turned out very unnatural, and although I followed the theme of Harry Potter it just turned out kind of random and I felt fairly rushed on the assignment. Some of the placements of the images also turned out jagged and unnatural. My best photoshop assignment was probably my tutorial where I turned Kat into a fairy. I liked the colors of the photo and the relatively smooth editing. I think it turned out really well and blended together nicely. Here are those two assignments: Overall, I learned a lot in this class. I grew in both being a photographer and working in Photoshop. I had some good pictures and photoshop assignments, some bad, but overall I liked most of the work I created in this class. I learned so much about the composition of photographs and how to use the camera in manual mode. Coming into the class I had no knowledge on photoshop or using the camera in manual, and now I can create cool pictures in photoshop, and take nice photograph's as well. I'm really glad I took this class, and I'm proud of how I've grown and what I've made while in this class.
